The first video release by Wet Gate is a 28-minute long compilation of excerpts of performances from 2000-2001, showcasing the various projection methods employed by this all-16mm-projectionist ensemble. As with all Wet Gate performances and recordings, The Psychic Flock is created entirely from the sounds and images generated from nothing but 16mm films and projectors.

Two San Francisco performance excerpts in the "Skinnimascope" format, wherein the group projects from behind a thin rear screen which faces the audience, depict the more formal "wide-screen" aesthetic. Images keystoned across the white plane dissolve and collide with one another, mirrors (sometimes with broken glass) fracture projections, and ghost-like refractions of those images triple and sometimes quadruple the loop being projected. Wet Gate's technique of applying self-adhesive patterns to clear celluloid can be seen and heard here, darting amongst "found footage" in varying shades of discoloration.

The third performance is a roving documentation of a "breakaway" Wet Gate performance as captured by Basement Films' Maximillian Godino to videotape. In this concert, projections occur from a central base in the performance space without the formal rear screen; a panoply of heavily-refracted projections are allowed to roam freely across a 20-foot-tall surface, further altered by the uses of flexible and non-flexible rotating mirrors and colored gels. Techniques in severe and deliberate "damage" to film stock appear.

Underscoring the imagery, as with all Wet Gate performances, is a densely-layered and sweeping "score" performed live from the projected film loops' own optical soundtracks, employing simple electronic delays and sampling devices to remove the stiching between sound and image.
