Making sound with a Purpose

The Dactyls of Phrygia are a performing arts group who
develop music with traditional and handmade instruments
built from salvage.

Saturday November 17 2001
the Dactyls in cooperation with Other Cinema
will provide soundtracks for the animated works of Steve Dye.
Including  Subtle Flight of Birds, Brief Candle, and King Midas

They will also accompany the very early animation of
Emile Cohl and Thomas Edison.
Also on the bill: Cue-Track.
Instrument specially crafted for this performance
will be provided to the audience for a multi-projector collaboration,
where the film itself is the score and the audience is the orchestra.
